Fabrication & buying
What to confirm before cutting, bending and welding
Discuss drawings, bend requirements and visible surfaces together before fabrication.
Confirm the finished drawing, material condition and finish requirements together.
Bending needs more than an angle
Springback depends on factors including material and thickness. Mark the finished angle, inside radius and critical dimensions; tooling and process review determine feasibility.
Drawing revision and operation sequence
Supply a readable PDF plus available fabrication files, units and revision. List all required operations so their sequence can be reviewed against the finished appearance.
Mark visible faces and joints
Mark front and back, grain direction, weld locations and areas requiring finishing. Agree a sample and appearance criteria for mirror or coloured parts before a batch.
Identify critical requirements
Specify fit, assembly, sealing, load or pressure requirements explicitly. Provide tolerances and acceptance criteria, and clarify the scope of supply, fabrication and installation.
